When Belgian Show Jumper Constant van Paesschen was not selected for the World Equestrian Games he decided to take legal action, as he felt that the decision was unfair and unjustified. After being told he was going to be on the team by the Belgian Court of Arbitration of Sport, they then went back on their decision and Constant was once again left off of the team. The Van Paesschen's have decided to continue the legal battle against the BCAS and the Belgian Equestrian Federation. A meeting was held this morning at Brussels Airport by Stanny van Paesschen and Alain van Campenhoudt. It was revealed that legal procedures continued in a first instance court in Brussels yesterday and ended with the court ordering the Belgian Equestrian Federation to follow the decision from the CBAS or pay a fine of €5000. The decision reached the parties of the case last night, and they had a time limit of two hours. In the press release from this meeting it is stated from the Van Paesschen's side that they have had no news since and that as far as they are concerned " the federation would rather spend its budget to pay penalties and damages than reverse decisions unjustified and unjustifiable". The BEF can no longer change the team as the deadline for definite entries was Thursday (21.08.14).
