Irish rider Cian O'Connor was crowned last weekend as the "EquiVET Ireland International Rider of the Year". With several big wins under his belt, he deserved this title. Two times he jumped clear rounds in the Nations Cup of Wellington and in St. Gallen. But also in Dublin where Ireland finished in second place in the Nations Cup, it was O'Connor who stayed double clear. Together with his Good Luck (f. Canturo) a Belgium bred horse by Dirk Geerinckx he won several prizes in Aachen, Dublin, Spruce Meadows, Birmingham, Stuttgart and in Doha. His year will come to and end with a respectable 38th placing in the world rankings and over €500.000 of pricemoney. For MHS Going Global (f. O Quidam Jr) there was also a prize. Under rider Greg Broderick the 10 year old gelding was a succesful contender at the Olympics this year in Rio. The horse recieved the prize for "Ocean Feed Horse of the Year-award".
