It was Venezuela who reigned in Spruce last night. In the international ring the heighest jumps were set 1.55m. Andres Rodriguez and his Belgian Warmblookd Darlon van Groenhoeve (Clinton x Hearbreaker) finished their jump-off in 43.01 seconds. The pair was followed by compatriot Pablo Barrios aboard the 10-year-old Antares (by Manhattan). Quentin Judge and HH Whisky Royale (by Wonderful van t Beugelhof) made it to the third place. Finishing faultless in 45.70 seconds. The top five was completed by Kevin Babington with Mark Q (by OBOS Quality 004) and Ward McLain abaord HH Azur (by Thunder van de Zwohoeve). Kara Chad and Stone Ridge's Zamiro 16 (Zenturio x Landstreicher) were the best Canadian pair in this class. Only 10 horse-rider combinations finished their jump-off faultless. In the All Canada ring there was one FEI -class on the schedule. Jaclyn Duff proved to be 'the one to watch' for Canada. Duff and her own EH All or None (Abke x Grannus) rode to a fourth place in this 1.45m course. They finished with one time penalty in the first round. Victory coloured Brasilian with Eduardo Menezes and Catalina (by Chacco Blue). Mario Deslauriers (Scout de La Cense) and Reed Kessler (KS Stakki) followed in second and third place. Only two combinations placed for the jump-off. In the National competition the heighest class was for Daniel Chaves Anicet and Chacna (by Chacco Blue). Two Canadians placed in the top ten. Calgary's Mackenzie Edwards and the 11-years-old Cinderella. The pair jumped one rail down in the jump-off, finishing second. Toronto's Susan Horn made it to the seventh place. Cheered up by her Dutch friend Horn and Balintore (by Vincenzo) finished their first round with one time penalty.
