In Mechelen, the last five star class of the day has just ended: the BMW Masters. Ten riders entered the show ring for this class where fences are getting rider each round until only one rider remains.

The crowd had to say goodbye to Nicola Philippaerts (Icos), Pius Schwizer (About a Dream) and Denis Lynch (The Duke) in the first round. These three riders each hit one fence, meaning they could not come back for the second round.
The second round meant the exit for Jos Verlooy (Caracas) and Simon Delestre (Chadino). Three Belgian riders remained for in the third rond: Gregory Wathelet, Pieter Devos and Niels Bruynseels. Bruynseels and Devos kept the zero on the board so the hopes of the Belgian crowd rest on their shoulders. The German rider Daniel Deusser joined the two Belgian riders in the last jump-off.
Deusser was the first rider who had to start. He and Jasmien Van De Bisschop entered the ring with confidence and clearly wanted to win. His 9-year old Larino daughter left the wood untouched and finished in 28,92 seconds. Devos and Bruynseels knew what they had to do: go faster and keep it clear.
The second rider entering the show ring was Pieter Devos. With Apart (f. Larino), a 13-year old KWPN gelding, he went fast as lightening finishing in 28,34 seconds and taking the first place.
The last rider to enter the show ring was Niels Bruynseels, clearly the favorite of the public. He did what everyone expected: go even faster. Delux Van T&L (f. Toulon) finished after 28,12 seconds, which made Bruynseels the winner of the Masters.
