The CSI 5* of Sopot reached its highlight this afternoon. After a wonderful show, the Grand Prix was scheduled on Sunday. All combinations had to jump two 1,60m round. The best 13 riders of the first round had the chance to prove themselves again in the second round. Eventually it was the German rider Patrick Stühlmeyer who ruled this class. He jumped two clear rounds with his stallion Lacan (Lando). He was the only rider who managed to ride a double clear. Second place was for Fabio Leivas da Costa. He and Allegro van de Donkhoeve (Mr. Blue) didn't touch any fence either, but they got one time penalty. Because of that, they had to settle for second place instead of taking the win. Third place was for Jérome Guery and Papillon Z. They were the fastest combination with only 4 faults. Above that, they also rode a very fast second round. Papillon reached the finish line after 34,45 seconds, almost 10 seconds faster than Stühlmeyer. Unfortunately for them, that one fence kept them from winning the class. This combination is still in the running for representing Belgium at the Olympics. Fourth place was for Cassio Rivetti and Fine Fleur du Marais (Toulon). They got 4 points as well, and finished in 35,31seconds. The top 5 was completed by Douglas Lindelöw. He and Zacramento Z (Cardento) finished in 36,26 seconds. Sixth place was for Ukraine. Rene Tebbel rode Giljandro van den Bosrand in 36,76 seconds over the finish line. They hit one fence as well. Click here for the results
