Thursday's Youngster Cup winners Darragh Kenny and Chin Quidam VDL (Chin Chin x Quidam de Revel) were yet again the best in Saturday's Sparkassen Youngster Cup Final in Aachen. The couple were one of thirty pairs moving on to the final, after two qualifications earlier this week. In the end almost half of the class moved on to the second round, the majority being eight year old horses – and it was also one of them that ended up on top as Kenny's eight year old stallion was the fastest one at 45.29 seconds. Runner-up was another one who impressed in Thursday's qualification after being disqualified in the first, Eric Lamaze on the eight year old gelding Check Picobello Z (Cardento x Orlando) who finished on the time of 47.03. Another second slower than Lamaze was Penelope Leprevost on the eight year old mare Sultane Des Ibis (Quidam De Revel x Elan De La Cour *HN) to finish third. The best horse- and rider combination over-all in the youngster classes was home rider Denis Nielsen and Special One 2 (Stakkato x Escudo I). He was awarded with a very beautiful foal for his achievements
