At 13:00 the most important test of the competition began, the CaixaBank Grand Prix. Nobody wanted to miss the great international equestrian event in Santander, which started with a splendid sun and in which the public cheered the riders until the end of the show. The course designed by Javier Trenor and consisting of 13 obstacles and 16 efforts left three performances without fail for the jump off, with full Spanish representation... The first clear came from the hand of Gonzalo Añón riding AD Amigo, the first rider competing at the jump off, and who risked just enough to ensure a good result. The current runner-up of Spain, Primitivo Nieves, went to the tiebreaker with desires to reduce the time of the Galician, and he did it in a second, but the luck did not accompany him enough, knocking down the last obstacle. The last one on the track, Diego Pérez Bilbao, managed to get rid of the weekend thorn in the second and third place in the most important events. Determined, with action and very good gallop, the Ibicenco maintained the same tuning of the weekend and was imposed with Helios in the CaixaBank Grand Prix. After them and with four points Frenchman Alexandre Boudarel and Jose Diaz Vecino follow them. It concludes a weekend in which the Campa de La Magdalena was a hotbed of both sporting and audience successes, and the Cantabrian capital returns to its splendor with the XVI edition of CSI2 * Santander.
