It was recently announced that the Belgian Equestrian Federation were looking for a new Chef d'équipe to replace Kurt Gravemeier. Several riders were selected to be apart of a committee that would carefully select a new candidate. Today this committee have announced that they have chosen Olympian Dirk Demeersman to be the new Team manager. Prior to this decision , Demeersman was the assistant trainer to Gravemeier while also competing on the Belgian team. He will continue his role as team trainer and has decided to take a step back from competing so he can fully devote himself to the Belgian Team. Demeersman has signed a two year contract with the BEF and already has a difficult task on his hands as the Belgian team failed to qualify for the 2016 Olympics at this years World Equestrian Games. Their last chance to qualify will be at the European Championships in Aachen next year, where they will face some tough competition.   Photo : Dirk Demeersman - Left
