Emma-Jo Slater Leads the Way in Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at Codham Park Equestrian

Codham Park Equestrian in Braintree, Essex played host to the first Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round of the season on Sunday and it was Emma-Jo Salter who dominated the leader board to take home the win. Forty-two combinations started out over Sunday’s course and each rider was hoping to secure a treble clear as this would see them take a place in the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final, which will be held during the British Showjumping National Championships in August. The initial starting field was whittled down as just fifteen competitors produced a double clear for a place in the final jump off. As eight talented partnerships were able to secure a treble clear it was left up to the all-important clock to decide the winner. Using her late draw to full advantage Emma-Jo Slater from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire gave three clean performances on board Kim Barzilay’s 8 year-old bay gelding, Kings of Leon to take first place. This pair definitely saved their best till last as they flow round the jump-off course in just 42.50 seconds to an immaculate treble clear. Second place was taken by local rider Michaela Huntington who had made the short journey from Braintree, Essex with her own 6 year-old bay mare Gina Trojka S. Michaela secured her treble in 46.10 seconds. Continuing her run of good form Emma-Jo Slater snapped up third place with Fielina II, a 7 year-old grey mare owned by Kim Barzilay. This combination crossed the finish line on a treble clear in 48.03 seconds. With another five combinations also achieving a treble clear, a total of eight combinations now go forward to the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final.
