Foutrier wins Grand Prix of Opglabbeek

In Opglabeek, the last class of the first week of the 'Horse & Friends Event' has just ended. In this 1,50m Grand Prix, 70 combinations entered the show ring. Twelve of them rode a clear first round and came back in the jump-off. In that jump-off, Olivier Philippaerts rode a very fast round with H&M Legend of Love (Landzauber). Philippaerts and his 10-year old mare rode a clear round in 38,74 seconds. It seemed like the young Belgian rider was going to take the win in front of his home crowd, but then there was Guillaume Foutrier... He and Tchin De La Tour (Chin Chin) rode an even faster round. The French combination finished in 38,43 seconds which was rewarded with the first place. De Dutch lady rider Aniek Poels completed the top three. She and Athene (Berlin) left the wood untouched and finished in 39,95 seconds. Kim Thiry ended on fourth place with Givale vd Windheuvel (Winningmood van de Arenberg). This combination left all fences untouched and finished in 39,55 seconds. Jos Verlooy (Balloon) and Wouter Devos (Emporia Van T Holeinde) ended of fifth and sixth place.
