The fourth edition of Madrid Horse Week is closing in and all the top athletes are slowly arriving in Spain’s capital for a competition on the highest level in the sixth leg of the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Western European league. Amongst them are at least Six of World Top 10 including Christian Ahlmann (1) who just won the WC-round in front of his own crowd at the German Masters in Stuttgart. The number two of the FEI ranking Simon Delestre (2) will also come to see if he can claim some Worldcup ranking points just as Daniel Deusser, (5) Marcus Ehning (7), Kevin Staut (8) and Scott Brash (10). Especially Germeny is going to Spain in full force with Ahlmann being backed up by his entire Olympic team Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, Ludger Beerbaum, Marcus Ehning, and Daniel Deusser. For Switzerland it is Romain Duguet we need to be looking out for. He was leading the World Cup ranking until Stuttgart last week and is on his way to claim back his number one spot. Spain will be represented by all the team: Sergio Álvarez Moya, Pilar Cordón, Eduardo Álvarez, Manuel Fernández Saro and Gerardo Menendez. Other riders to watch are Belgian Pieter Devos who had an amazing start in Oslo and Helsinki, the lovely Edwina Tops-Alexander, Sheikh Ali Ak Thani from Quatar and the Dutch that will be represented by Maikel van der Vleuten and Marc Houtzager.
