Last year Gert-Jan Bruggink took the concluding CSI3* Grand Prix win at the Z-Tour in Lanaken, Belgium. This year the Dutch show jumper did it again, claiming victory in the 2016 Z-Tour concluding CSI3* Grand Prix. Aboard Vampire (Marome NW x Voltaire), Bruggink was the last out in the jump-off. However the speed devil did his job snatching the win from Danmark's Andreas Schou. A little over fifty combinations took the start in the 1.50m Grand Prix. The course was set very technical and the time allowed sharp enough, making it a hard task to complete. A total of seven riders produced a clear first round, moving on to the jump-off. Andreas Schou and the 11-years-old Allstart (by Oklund) where the first to go in. The pair finished clear in 40.94 seconds. A performance nobody could beat until Gert-Jan Bruggink entered the ring. Douglas Lindelöw and Balou's Lady (by Balou du Rouet) didn't take any risk. The pair went for a safe round, concluding with 3 time penalties. In the end good enough for the third place. Frank Schuttert and Go Easy de Muze (by Vigo d'Arsouilles) set a record time in 38.31 seconds. Unfortunatelly the rail on the last oxer fell down, placing the pair in a fourth spot.
