Yesterday we learned that several new horses arrived at the stables of the no.1 Belgian rider Gregory Wathelet. The most important being Eldorado vh Vijverhof, who competed at the World Equestrian Games with Colombian Dayro Arroyave. "Eldorado is the main acquisition, I have great ambitions for him, especially for the big Grand Prixs. I do not want to put pressure on myself, I want to take my time, he has always been ridden by Dayro, who has a different riding style, so I will have to see how it goes. The idea is to keep the horse, he is not for sale, the owners want to enjoy him." Gregory has also received D'Egano vh Slogenhof and  Zippit, (both 10) and the 9 year old Rio des Vains. " Egano was given to be by Stephex, he arrived last week. This horse has less experience. I saw him a few times with Eiken Sato but I don't know him too much. It is a big ask, so I'll take him out this weekend in a few small classes to see how he goes. Rio des Vains is also inexperienced, he has competed in national Grand Prixs in France. However, he has not competed in a long time so I am going to take my time with him. Zippit came to me from the Netherlands. He has already competed at a 2* level. With him I plan to start him at more important events." Finally, Xavier Marie, the owner of Haras de Hus and Conrad de Hus , Gregory's top horse, has given him the 8 year old mare Corée de Hus. "Corée is a mare that has tremendous potential, but I will have to improve her. She is a mare that cannot do everything immediately. She was given to me by Haras de Hus, somewhat in the same spirit as Conrad. Conrad competed in Strazeele last week, he went in the small classes, he did very well. I'll take him to Oslo and Helsinki".
