Guerdat takes blazing win in Salon du Cheval prix at CSI5* Paris

It are the Swiss that are on a roll in Paris today. After a amazing win from Swicher ealier today it is now Steve Guerdat that takes the lead in the GOLD CUP presented by Salon du Cheval Paris. During the competition with a winning round that had 24 competitors lined up Guerdat showed the field how a jump-off is done. Aboard his 10-year old mare Albfuehren's Happiness (by Heartbeat) the rider from Bassecourt seered trough the arena to cross the finish line just under 42 seconds. Runner up Daniel Deusser and Sweet de Baufour (by Diamant de Semilly) put a good fast round in. But the German rider from Stephex Stables and hit 10-year old gelding lacked the speed to catch up with Guerdat to finish in second. Belgian rider Jerome Guery just lagged a bit behind with his 11-year old Alicante crossing the finish line after 44.87 seconds to claim the third prize. Irelands Betram Allen rode the only 8-year old Izzy By Picobello (by Cicero Z) to the fourth place. Just ahead of Olivier Philippaerts who rode H&M Challenge v. Begijnakker Z (by Cehallano Z) to the fifth posotion making it a succesfull evening for the Belgian riders. Reigning world European and World champion Jeroen Dubbeldam just missed out on a top five spot with Carusso LS La Silla (by Montebello). The pair stopped the clock on 45.48 seconds being a mere 0.23 seconds slower as Philippaerts. Go here to see all the results.
