It looked like the first five star competition of the day in New York was to be "Italian flavoured" as Emanuele Gaudiano was the first in the Jump-off and set the record time holding on on the 34.05 seconds. Aboard his 9-year-old Chalou (f. Chacco-Blue) he however had to give away victory to the Dutch number one show jumping rider, Harrie Smolders. Smolders speeded to victory as one of the last out of the six combinations at the start in the jump-off. Together with the 13-year-old Capital Colnardo (f. Colman), Smolders crossed the finish in 33.12 seconds. France's Edward Levy placed third with the SF-mare, Rafale d'Hyverniere (f. Chef Rouge). The top five was completed by Alberto Michan aboard Darkos Promise and McLain Ward with HH Callas (f. Albatros) Click here for the results
