The indoor show in Asten just finished its first day with a joined victory for Hessel Hoekstra and Francois Jr Mathy in the JK Horsetrucks Grand Prix. The 1.40m - class in which no less than 105 competitors entered the arena was the first qualification to the Medium Tour - final on Saturday evening and was splitted into two rankings. The fastest time was set by Hessel Hoekstra, the 9th starter of the field, who managed to keep his pole position until the very end. Riding the grey Qstar (by Quasimodo Z) Hoekstra set up a fantastic time of 60:87 seconds and put a lot of pressure of the riders yet to come. In the end Francois Jr Mathy claimed the win in the second group, by finishing the round in clear 61:11 seconds aboard the Hannovarian gelding Crumley (by Cassus). Ozgur Ozkan from Turkey, crossing the finish exactly 1.5 seconds after Hoekstra, secured the 2nd place in the frist group competing with the 10-year-old Boncetto W (by Concetto Famos). Simone Buhofer entered the arena about 30 horses later but set up a strong performance with her BWP - mare Flying Girl (by Querlybet Hero). At 62:96 seconds the Swiss showjumper crossed the finish line and secured rank 3. In the second group Swedish Malin Parmler rode the 6-year-old Dagma (by Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve) to a second place in clear 62:76 seconds. Katrin Eckermann and the Padinus - daughter Dukendy was placed third by finishing the course within 63:29 seconds. The Top 5 were completed by Irelands Ciaran Dreeling (Lord Lenitas, 0 / 63:31) and Jarno van Erp (Al Capone, 0 / 64:16) in group 1 and Marriet Hoekstra (U Bresco Z, 0 / 63:74) and Katrin Eckermann (Quick Step, 0 / 64:76) in group 2, respectively.
