Irish rider James Chawke took the $10,000 Rocky Mountain Classic III 1.40 Grand Prix at the Rocky Mountain Show Jumping competition in Canada. Chawke managed to stave off all of the home riders to take the win aboard Arista. With a total of four faults Chawke had the fastest time (51.77 seconds), just under a second faster than Femke van den Bosch (52.38 seconds), who also had a total of four faults aboard Tomtom. In third place was Lorrie Jamieson and KVF Zeno. They had a total of 8 faults in a time of 53.66 seconds. ---------------------------------- Earlier in the day Chelsea McNeill and Ballinteskin Syd won the $700 1.15m Mini Grand Prix. They were the only double clear of the class. In second place was Rachel Long and Lebu while Ally Penic took third aboard Casper.
