James Paterson-Robinson wins Saturday's Gold Tour in Linz

Saturday's Prize of Newsport in Linz, Austria, proved to be an exciting one as Australia's James Paterson-Robinson beat Czech rider Ales Opatrny by 0.02 seconds. Aboard the 11-year-old gelding Riboy d' Alimat (by Dollar de la Pierre) Paterson-Robinson stopped the clock on 74.25 seconds in this Gold Tour speed class. Ales Opatrny tried his best forcing all the speed and turns out of his 9-year-old mare Quinta (by Quintero), but crossed the finish line 0.02 seconds behind and had to settle for the runner-up position. Spanish Santiago Nunez Riva finished third on Monalisa LS (by Montebello la Silla) in 76.75 seconds, while fourth place went to home rider Christoph Obernauer on Magic (Quidam de Revel x Argentinus). The top five was completed by Gerardo Menendez and Cassino Dc (by Cassini I). The pair finished just out of the time allowed in 81.70 seconds. CLICK HERE FOR ALL RESULTS
