The first round of the finals Show jumping, at the European championships in Aachen, proved to be a tricky one. The triple combination was one of the most difficult ever seen. Very short vertical - vertical and oxer. Also the huge water jump into the vertical was apparently difficult enough. Leader at the start of the first round, Sergio Alvarez Moya and Carlo 273 had one fence down in the triple combination, bringing them back into a provisional third place. World Champion, for the Netherlands, Jeroen Dubbeldam jumped to a clear round adding no points to his standings, taking the lead. Belgium's Gregory Wathelet and Conrad de Hus kept it clear as well finishing second in the current standings. Simon Delestre takes in the fourth place before we go into the second round. In about 25minutes the second round will start.
