Jerome Guery takes main victory at first day CSI5* Waregem Horse Week

It turned out to be an exciting battle in the finish 1.50m main CSI5* class at the first day of the Waregem Horse Week. Belgium's own Jérome Guery did hold on on the leading position with his Kannan-son, Kel'Star du Vingt Ponts. Aboard the 9-year-old gelding, Guery jumped to victory in 66,94 seconds. Dutch Maikel Van der Vleuten did a huge effort beating Guery's time. Together with the KWPN-mare, Arera C (Indoctro), Van der Vleuten crossed the finish faultless in 67,81 seconds. Kevin Staut completed the stage in the saddle of Viking d'La Rousserie (Quincy). Staut as well tried a shorter turn towards the number seven vertical, however rode an extra stride in the last line. Home-rider, Olivier Philippaerts followed in a fourth place with the Cicero Z-son, Icos. Julio Arias completed the top five with Reggae du Tillard. Results
