France’s Julien Epaillard opened his show at the Longines Hong Kong Masters with a win on Friday evening. Riding the amazing 10 year old Casall-son Cristallo A LM, Julien came in towards the very end of the class and rode a beautiful yet fast round around Luc Musette’s twelve fence track to shave off 0.15 seconds on Shane Breen’s time aboard Farao van’t Vennehof (Triomphe de Muze x Sun Light van de Zuuthoeve) and pushed the Irish rider down to second. Pieter Devos, who followed after Epaillard had been into the ring, took third after an efficient and clear round on Candy stopping the clock almost at a second behind the winner.
