Jur Vrieling's Zavall VDL (Casall x Emilion) made the most out of his derby debut in Falsterbo. After being clear in both the first round, and in the jump-off the pair won the Falsterbo Derby. 24 horse and rider combinations took part in the class and five cleared the long track to qualify for the jump-off. Jur was first to go in the jump-off and really put some pressure on the rest of the field with his 52,24 seconds. In the try to be faster than Jur the poles started to fall and Captain Michael Kelly with Mo Chroi (Cruising x Minister for Defence) ended on four faults as well as Jens Fredricson with Avon (Quidam de Revel x Cortez 67), while Bertram Allen with Romanov (Heartbreaker x Fedor) got eight faults. The only other rider to clear the jump-off was Olivier Philippaerts with Carlito C (Kannan x Romeo), but with 53,35 seconds he had to settle for second place. It was a happy Jur at the press conference: "I'm really happy with my stallion today. This was the first time that my horse did a derby so I had no expectations at all. It was a test to see how he would do it, and he did it really well." "It was difficult enough especially for a young horse that never did a derby before. But he is so careful and he really tries. I know how careful he is and how good he jumps so I wasn't afraid for faults anywhere, but I was worried about some of the derby fences (...) He really did his best. Then I was lucky to be in the beginning of the class as he had some time to relax before the jump-off."
