Karel Cox has had a tremendous season this year and today he topped it off by winning the Belgian Championship today at the Zangersheide Stud in Lanaken. Riding the 13 year old Belgian warmblood gelding Cor van de Wateringhoeve (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Lys de Darmen), Cox won the final in true style. Before the final round he was fourth on the standings, but after the first round of the final he took over the lead from Nicola Philippaerts, who eventually finished ninth with Zilverstar Z. The favourite for the win, Pieter Devos took the silver medal with Dream of India Greenfield (Gem of India x Day and Night), whereas last years vice-champion, Niels Bruynseels took bronze with Cas de Liberte (Cracky Z x Chellano Z). Gilles Dunon and Damien Plume took fourth and fifth place respectively. FULL RESULTS Photo ©Equnews.be
