The inaugural event 'The Stephex Masters' held at the Stephex Stables in Wolvertem, Belgium has been a huge success. Even more so for American rider Kent Farrington. Riding the 11 year old stallion 'Willow' (by Guidam) he was the fastest double clear in the jump off with a time of 32.76 seconds. Out of 60 starters only four riders made it through to the jump-off. Some credited the tight time-allowed as the reason for this. Out of the four riders in this jump-off, only two went double clear, the first being Kent and the second being American rider Lauren Hough. Hough rode the 10 year old mare Ohlala (by Orlando) and had a quick time, 33.03 seconds, however, it was not quick enough to catch her colleague Kent. Finishing in third place was French rider Simon Delestre and the 8 year old mare Stardust Quinhon (by Calvaro). Delestre had four faults and a time of 33.27 seconds in the jump-off. The highest ranked home rider was Nicola Philippaerts and the 9 year old stallion Forever D'arco ter linden (by Darco). They finished in 10th place with four faults in the first round.
