At the Longines Global Champions Tour in Valkenswaard the competition has started. Taking place with in the renewed facility of LGCT creator, Jan Tops, two arena's are open for sport. In the CSI2* class the jumps were set at a height of 1.35m. Victory was for Victoria Gulikksen and Billy Blue Bell (by Billy Blue Bell). Finishing in 31.70 seconds she left Jos Verlooy and Clearwater 5 (by Clearway) in a second place. Emanuele Massimiliano Bianchi and Emoe Tiramsue completed the top three in this class. Riding for own crowd, Dutch Roosje Brouwer, finished fifth as best for the Netherlands. Aboard Monopoly she set the time in 32.34 seconds, claiming the fourth spot. In the first CSI5* LGCT-class it was Italy who coloured the win. The 1.45m class was no problem for Bonheur S (by Toulon) and Luca Maria Moneta. The pair finished their jump-off clear in 34.96 seconds. Philippe Rozier (Quel Chanu) followed as runner-up. Recently moved to the Netherlands, Reed Kessler she feels at home. Aboard the 10-years-old KS Stakki (by Stakkato Gold) she finished third. The pair was ahead of Jur Vrieling an dArezzo VDL, taking home the fourth place. The top five was completed by Jane Richard Philips and Pablo de Virton. A total of 42 horse-rider combinations got through to the second phase, about half (20) of them also finished that course faultless.
