USA's Lucy Davis wrote her name into the history books today, winning the CHIO €200,000 Grand Prix in Rotterdam. Aboard the 11-years-old sBs-horse Barron (by For Pleasure) she set the fastest time in a jump-off with 16 pairs. German STX-rider, Daniel Deusser (Cornet d'Amour) followed in a second place. The combination finished faultless in 39.86 seconds. Veredus-rider, Marcus Ehning and Comme Il Faut 5 (by Cornet Obolensky) finished third. Joe Clee entered the ring with the stunner Utamaro D’Ecaussines (Diamant de Semilly x Quidam de Revel) and it was no doubt that the British rider wanted to win the class. Utamaro D’Ecaussines once again flew over the fences – and just like in Friday’s Nations Cup the stallion went double clear – and the clock stopped at 40.97 seconds. Eventually they finished fourth. Ludger Beerbaum with Chiara 222 (Contender x Coronado) gave it a go, but had to settle for fifth place behind Joe Clee.
