As tention is building up towards the World Cup class in Verona this afternoon, it was Ludger Beerbaum who claimed victory in this mornings 1.45m Longines Ranking Class. Germany's Beerbaum speeded to victory aboard the 15-year-old Contender-mare, Chiara. Beerbaum crossed the finish in 44.68 seconds and was followed by Ireland's Bertram Allen. Aboard the Canto 16-son, GK Casper, Allen advanced on local show jumping rider, Gianni Govoni with Lucaine (Lenardo). Both combinations stopped the chrono in under 45 seconds. USA's Jessica Springsteen placed just outside the stage with the 9-year-old SF-mare, Volage du Val Henry (Quidam de Revel) while Simone Blum completed the top five with Con Touch S (Con Cento).
