Temperatures are just over zero degrees in Alberta, Canada, reason enough for the equestrian community to start their local competitions again. The Spruce Meadows Equestrian Facility in Calgary hosted its first week of the February Classics. The heighest jumps were built 1.20m. A total of four classes were organized. Three out of the four times it was Madison Ricard who took home the win. Every time aboard Donndiego (by Donner Bube). On Sunday Madison had to be satisfied with a fourth place after one jumping fault in the jump-off. Victory in this class was for Calgary's Susan Latiff and the 14-year-old Le Grand Star. The pair finished their jump-off clear in 30.27 seconds. Over 0.30 seconds faster as Piet Van Genugten with Cassandra. The pair was followed by Ashleigh Jorgenson and Vesuvius (by Viva Voltaire). The other honoury places in the 1.20m classes were claimed by Chelsea Walsh (Mercury, Phlush), Madeleine Riddle (Salvatore) and Jim Ifko (Ultrago Damy).
