Press release : Gucci Paris Masters. “Only at the Gucci Paris Masters will you see so many spectators on a Saturday lunch time!” comments Martin Fuchs as he rides out of the arena. “It’s fantastic to feel such a wave of encouragement.” Winner of this class, he also wanted to thank the Parisian spectators for their support and enthusiasm. The well-deserved ovation was so loud it could be heard in the Prestige Village! The spectators were given a real treat, in front of the Prix Salon du Cheval-CENECA that offered a thrilling jump-off with the 7 combinations who returned to the jump-off. Sixth yesterday night, Maikel van der Vleuten and VDL Groep Eureka came third; regular as clockwork, Christian Ahlmann and Aragon Z were second in both competitions; and the young Martin Fuchs, seventh yesterday, triumphs today with Picsou du Chêne thanks to a sensational jump-off. “He’s very calm horse, not particularly bothered by the atmosphere. Yesterday he was quite happy to step up a gear. He felt so good in the first round that I was able to really accelerate the whole way round the jump-off. It’s fantastic to win here, in front of this public and in such amazing surroundings. At the beginning of the year I also competed in the Longines Hong-Kong Masters where I won the same event – but with another horse!” Full results
