The Equestrian Centre of Al Ain form the decorum for the first lap of the new FEI Nations Cup series. Today the five-star combinaties kicked off with a 1m45- competition. Surprisingly Egypt triumphed thanks to Karim El Zoghby and his 12-year-old Phin Phin-mare Dunoair Urona. The clear jump-off in 29:09 second gave the advantage over Abdullah Al Sharbatly and Larkhill Cruister. Turkey finished on a third place with Omer Karaevli and the 11-year-old Quinto II Vc. Bassemeind S (s. Quasimodo Z).
No less than 27 combinaties made their presence in the Jump-Off. Although no European made it to the top 3 this was a huge difference in the top 10. Cassio Rivetti stranded on the fourth place with Lord If de Chalusse after a zero-faults round in 30:57 seconds. British rider Robert Smith (Balourado) followed in fifth place for GCT-Queen Edwina Tops-Alexander. The Australian lady kept the pole untouched with her Vienna Olympic (s. Cassini I). New father, Joe Clee, was happy with his 9th place. On the back of the 9-year-old sBs-stallion Utamaro D Ecaussines (s. Diamant de Semilly) he looks foreward to the following of this nice competition in Al Ain.
