British show jumper Nicole Pavitt wraps up another competition day at the French-dominated CSI3* event in St. Lo. In the Prix Region Normandie no less than 11 riders entered the arena to jump the 6-bars which started at a height of 1.70m. The list of competitors, again mainly composed of French riders, decreased to 9 riders after the first round, where another three horse-rider-combination reached their limits. At 1.90m the Top 5 was set and faced the 2.0m limit. Stephane Dufour decided to withdraw his mount Ultra Star de Savigny from another round and was therefore placed 5th in the final ranking. Clarance Gendron and Unistar des Monts returned to the arena but weren't lucky this time. With 8 penalties the duo was not allowed to continue and finished 4th. The three remaining riders however, representing Great Britain, Switzerland and France, had no troubles with the 2m - obstacle and battled it out in a final round. The bar was risen to impressive 2.10m, but this time only GB's Nicole Pavitt managed to jump the fence clear. Aboard the BWP - mare Shahenaz she was celebrated by the public and won the 6-bars presented by the region of Normandie. Evelyne Bussmann, who chose Tafila d'Urville for the difficult task of the night, came home with 4 penalties and shared the 2nd place French Jonathan Chabrol. Competing Felton du Mont he also struggled with the last fence and finished with 4 penalties. Click here for the results.
