Only five combinations qualified for the Jump-Off in the 1.60m Longines Grand Prix of Guangzhou. Eventually it was France's Grand Prix qualifier winner, Olivier Guillon who speeded to victory.

The 10-year-old Gelding was before competed by Constant van Paesschen in China and Leon Thijssen in Europe. Local show jumping rider, Tongyan Liu followed as runner-up with his 11-year-old Holstein-sire, Yu Long Qi Ji ( Cachas). The pair stopped the clock in 37.36 seconds. As well as in under 38 seconds it was Hong Kong's Patrick Lam who completed the stage aboard the 9-year-old KWPN-sire, Freedom.
