In this last installment of our 'On the Road to Vegas' series we will concentrate on Beezie Madden's horse Simon. The beginning of the World Cup Final starts tonight in Las Vegas, with the opening speed round starting at 7:15pm local time. Simon and Madden will be 25th to go out of 41 riders. Beezie Madden will be hoping to repeat her World Cup Final win in 2013, which she won with Simon.

Simon began his Winter season last September at the Los Angeles Masters. In the Grand Prix he had four faults and finished 12th with Madden, a promising start to the season. During the World Cup in Harrisburg they also had four faults, but a week later they made it through to the jump-off in Washington where they finished in third place. They started 2015 in Wellington, Florida where they concluded with an eight faults round in the World Cup. In Ocala, the pair picked up four faults but redeemed themselves with a second place finish in a Grand Prix in Wellington. Madden then decided to take Simon to the Longines Global Champions Tour on Miami Beach for their final preparations for Vegas. There, they went clear in the first round but unfortunately had fours faults in the second.
Statistics:
In terms of numbers, Simon went clear four times over 1.60m courses over the Winter season. He competed over ten 1.60m courses, so that gives us a percent of 40.
