The German rider Maurice Tebel travelled to Lyon this weekend, but eventually he didn't start. This because a paste was found in the water of his horse Chacco's Son (v. Chacco Blue). The German rider didn't know how the paste came in the water. The trainer of the German team, Otto Becker, now reacts to this event. Rene Tebbel immediately reported what happend to the organization of the competition in Lyon and they started an inquiry. Father and son Tebbel decided to withdrawn Chacco's Son from competition to prevent a positive doping test. The 22-year old Maurice would have started in the Grand Prix and the World Cup with his Chacco-Blue son. Otto Becker reacted: "Of course I feel sorry for Maurice. It's horrible when you travelled more than 1000 km and in the end, you can't start. But it was the only right decision. Rene and Maurice did what they had to do. Now we have to wait for the results of the inquiry and we hoop the truth will get clear than. We want to know how the paste got in the water". The German federation contacted the FEI about this event.
