Pedro Veniss takes home the Grand Prix of Geneva in a sublime way

In Geneva, the Rolex Grand Prix has just ended. It became a breathtaking competition. The 40 competitors faced a very difficult first round, but in the end 14 combinations managed to do it clear. The jump-off with 16 starters had to decide about the winner and it became a real thriller. Belgium's Niels Bruynseels had to go in first with his Cas de Liberte (f. Craky Z) and he immediately put the pressure on the next combinations by jumping a fast, clear round. Eventually his 40,52 resulted in a sixth place. The victory went to Pedro Veniss. This Brazilian rider took a lot of risk and turned very fast to the wall, winning a lot of time. This way he and his 12-year old Quabri de L'Isle (f. Kannan) took home the victory. The second place went to Olivier Philippaerts. He started really fast and it looked like he was going to beat Veniss' time, but in the end he was a little faster than the Brazilian rider. He and H&M Legend of Love (f. Landzauber) ended on second place. The bronze medal went to the British rider Scott Brash. He and Uruala XII (f. Ahorn) were the last combination to enter the ring, but he didn't manage to do it faster than Philippaerts and Veniss. He finished in 39,41 seconds. Kevin Staut ended on fourth place with Reveur du Hurtebis HDC (f. Kashmir van Schuttershof). He jumped a clear jump-off in 40,04 seconds. Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and Casall Ask (f. Caretino 2) ended on fifth place with 40,39 seconds. The two-time winners Steve Guerdat and the 15-year old Nino des Buissonets (f. Kannan) ended on twelfth place. It was the last time this combination jumped at the highest level. Belgium's Jérôme Guery was named 'rider of the weekend'. Romain Duguet was awarded with the titel of 'best Swiss rider'.
