Before the CSI5* riders saddle their best horses for tonights class, it was up to the seven year old horses to show their worth. This 1m35 class was a 'two phases special' and 37 combinations entered the show ring. It seemed for a very long time that Bertram Allen was going to win, but then Olivier Philippaerts came in... Phlippaerts was the last rider to enter but he went fast as lightening with the SBS mare Freesby de Vy (RO) (f. Deister). This resulted in a clear round in 30,18 seconds, beating Allen at the very last moment. Bertram had to take peace with the second place. This young Irish rider rode a clear round as well with Go To Fortuna (f. Eldorado vd Zeshoek) and finished in 30,65 seconds. The third place went to the Colombian rider Dayro Arroyave. He and the KWPN mare Grace P (f. Toulon) cleared the course in 31,00 seconds. Fourth and fifth place went to Belgium as well. Lieven Devos and Can't Stop 4, a Clearway son ended fourth. They kept the wood untouched and finished in 31,83 seconds. Gregory Wathelet, who took a spectacular win yesterday evening, ended on fifth place. He saddled the Selle Français stallion Bresil de Riverland (f. Canturano) for the job. In the 1m25 of the CSI1* competition, the victory went to Belgium as well. Paris Vandousselaere, who earlier won the 1m15 already, jumped a clear jump-off with here Golden Penny C, a BWP mare by Calvaro. This young lady rider crossed the finish line in 36,03 seconds. Gilles Faveere took the second spot with Adagio F Z (f. Arko III). They cleared the course in 37,32 seconds. The podium was completed by Anne Marie Pingard and Spicy d'Bonneville (f. Baloubet du Rouet). This French duo kept the zero on the score board en finished in 37,41 seconds. Celine De Cabooter (Laguna Van't Maeshof) and Cedric Desimpel (Mr. Pialot Z) ended respectively on fourth and fifth place.
