Pius Schwizer and Picsou de Chene (Le Tot de Semilly x Caloubet du Bois) took home the Longines Grand Prix in Zürich on Friday. The Swiss rider had one of only four double clears in the class, and took a very popular win ahead of Marcus Ehning on Cornado NRW (Cornet Obolensky x Acobat) – the German rider's time was 37.13 seconds, which was 0.16 behind Pius and his eleven year old gelding. Then followed another home rider; the talented Martin Fuchs riding PSG Future (Cashandcarry x Lorentin I) – at the time of 37.24 seconds. Number four was Edwina Tops-Alexander and Old Chap Tame (Carthago) with the time of 41.25 seconds in the jump-off.
Earlier in the day Laura Renwick won the "Hasta Opening Competition" together with Beluga (Heartbreaker x Darnels). Then followed two home riders; Werner Muff and Osiris du Goyen (Le Tot de Semilly x Nidor Platiere) and then Paul Estermann with Cornet's Hope (Cornet Obolensky x Drosselklang).
The 1.45 class against the clock was won by France's Roger Yves Bost and Castle Forbes Vivaldo van het Costervelds (Clinton x Randel Z) ahead of home rider Martin Fuchs with Principal (Prinz Oldenburg x Grabensprung). Third place went to another Swiss rider; Romain Duguet on Otello du Soleil (Alligator Fontaine x Papillon Rouge).
The 1.45 class was a qualification for the "Mercedes Jump & Drive" that went later Friday evening, and it was another Swiss win as Werner Muff and Osiris du Goyen (Le Tot de Semilly x Nidor Platiere) were the fastest. Martin Fuchs once again took the second place and this time with Mighty de Riverland (Shogoun II x Saphir d'Elle). Third place went to Luca Maria Moneta and Jesus de la Commune (Diamant de Semilly x Rocky du Rarel).
