The first round of the FEI World Cup Finals in Lyon, France, have been won by Swiss Pius Schwizer. Today the Swiss rider was clearly the best in this 'speed and handiness' competition, set at a height of 1m50. Aboard his 10-year-old Quidam du Vivier (by Socrate de Chivre) he finished in 63.37 seconds. A victory good for 23,000 Euro's. Finishing in 63.67 seconds French Patrice Delaveau and Lacrimoso HDC (by Landjunge) had to be satisfied with a second place. Ludger Beerbaum and Chaman (by Baloubet du Rouet) made it to the third place after a finish in 65.54 seconds. Olympic Champion, Steve Guerdat (Nino des Buissonnets) and Abdelkebir Ouaddar (Quickly Kreisker) completed the top five in this competition. Tomorrow the second round is on the program.
