Rich Fellers Wins $34,600 HITS Welcome Stake CSI4* at Thermal

The indelible 20-year-old Irish Sport Horse stallion Flexible won the opening CSI4* competition of the National Sunshine Series in Thermal, California on Thursday, November 10, 2016 with Rich Fellers in the irons. Fellers and Flexible prevailed over a jumpoff of ten pairs in the $34,600 HITS Welcome Stake CSI4*, from a full field of 53 on the start list. Their winning time of 39.51 seconds was solidly ahead of 2nd placed finisher Samuel Parot of Chile, who rode Atlantis to a clear track in 40.61 seconds. Third place went to Andrew Ramsey and Stranger 30, while Richard Spooner and Chivas Z, and Raymond Texel with Baldira, rounded out the top five. Seasoned riders all, the top finishers are aiming to compete in the three FEI classes on offer this week at the National Sunshine Series CSI4*. The week concludes with the $200,000 Sunshine Series Grand Prix CSI4*.
