Samuel Parot wins first 5* course at GCT Madrid

The CSI5* 1.50m Massimo Dutti Trophy was won by Samuel Parot (CHI) and Whisper HE who set an incredible time snatching victory from Harrie Smolders (NED) and Regina Z, who led from first to go in the 49-strong  field with a time that looked unbeatable. European Champion Roger-Yves Bost (FRA) and Poker des Dames put in a great performance to finish 3rd. As the sun slowly set over the stunning Club de Campo Villa de Madrid venue it was Smolders that had set the time to beat right from the very start with amazing mare Regina Z, if was hard to imagine anyone would catch him. But Parot and Whisper HE cut every corner and took every risk to better Smolder's time by 0.99s. Once again, all eyes were on the top names in contention for tomorrow night's feature class, the Longines Global Champions Tour of Madrid Grand Prix - Round 2 of the official global series. Third LGCT Ranked rider Constant van Paesschen (BEL) finished 5th with his new mount Citizenguard Cadjanine Z, while Patrice Delaveau (FRA) and Carinjo HDC, Laura Kraut (USA) and Wotsamillion and Ludger Beerbaum (GER) and Zinedine all finished in the top ten.
