The finale for 7-year old horses has just ended at the BMW arena of Waregem Horse Week. The 36 competitors got to jump a difficult course: only eight combinations managed the zero on the score board en could come back for a thrilling jump-off. In that jump-off, it was Scott Brash who showed why he is still one of the best riders in the world. In the saddle of the AES gelding Hello Franklin (f. Belly Mexico) rode a clear round in 31,70 seconds. With this time he beat the Belgian rider Gregory Wathelet. Wathelet jumped a clear jump-off with Bresil de Riverland (f. Canturano) but his time of 32,12 seconds wasn't enough to beat Brash. The third place went to Stephex lady rider Petronella Andersson. She rode Castres van de Begijnakker Z (f. Coriano Z) to the finish line in 33,45 seconds, leaving the wood untouched. Andersson only recently took over the reigns of this gelding. The Canadian rider Tiffany Foster ended on fourth place with Vienna (f. Valentino). Christian Ahlmann and Aga Khan (f. Acorado) took account of the fifth place. Click here for the results
