At the World Championships for seven year old horses almost the complete top 3 colored Belgian. From the 40 starters in the finals only 7 got into the Jump-off. It was the Belgian lady Gudrun Patteet and former World Champion Jos Lansink who managed to finish clear in this last round. Aboard the sBs-sire Sea Coast Atlantique (s. Schilling) Patteet ended 5 seconds faster as Lansink and the KWPN-stallion Bacardi VDL (s. Corland). The former Olympic Champion, Rodrigo Pessoa and the Z-breeded GC Atlanta Z (s. Andiamo Z) completed the stage on a third place.
Wat werden wij Belgen daarnet in de watten gelegd op het Wereldkampioenschap voor 7-jarige paarden. Maar liefst 3 Belgen eindigden in de top 4 van dit kampioenschap! Gudrun Patteet op 1, Jos Lansink op 2 en Nicola Philippaerts op 4.
Van de 40 starters wisten er 7 combinaties zich te plaatsen voor de barrage. Enkel Patteet en Lansink wisten hierin foutloos te blijven. Gudrun was met de sBs ruin Sea Coast Atlantique (v. Schilling) maar liefst 5 seconden sneller. Sponsor Sea Coast had deze vorig jaar op het WK in Zangersheide gekocht, al deed deze er toen niet mee. Op het BK in Gesves was deze toen aan het werk met Aurore van de Straeten. Zij was samen met haar tante Chantale de Kerchove d'Exaerde 3 jaar en half eigenaar van deze ruin.
Nicola Philippaerts and the sBs-horse All-in de Vinck made it to the fourth position while the STX-rider, Eiken Sato, ended fifth with the Belgian Warmbred Gazelle Ter Elzen. Both horses are by Kashmir van Schuttershof.
