Sheikh Ali Bin Khalid Al Thani wins QNB Doha Tour Grand Prix

Sheikh Ali Bin Khalid Al Thani won Saturday's CSI4* 1.60 Grand Prix of the QNB Doha Tour on home soil in Katara, after a nail biting second round which featured two Qatari and three KSA riders. Starting first on Imperio Egipcio Milton (Dollar du Murier x Capitol I), Sheikh Ali Bin Khalid Al Thani finished the round with one time penalty in 80.18 seconds. Despite the time penalty, nobody could match Sheikh Al Thani who won when last-to-go Khaled Al Eid and the Carthago-stallion Old Chap Tame brought down the last fence while well ahead in 76.49 seconds. However, Al Eid won the Doha Tour title overall. The Doha Tour was contested over three legs during this month in Al Shaqab, Al Rayyan and finally at Katara. Al Eid's compatriot, KSA rider Abdullah Sharbatly, came third with four penalties in 77.04 seconds riding Roso Au Crosnier (Looping d'Elle x Odin de la Cense) and Qatar rider Hamad Nasser Al Qadi was fourth riding SIEC Lonnie (La Primeur x Sherlock Holmes) with nine penalty points in 81.69. KSA rider Kamal Bahamdan and Sansibar 89 (Stakkato Gold x Wolkenstein II) ended fifth carrying twelve faults in 83.34 seconds.
