In Lier the CSI2* event was completely decorated in Christmas atmosphere. The 1.45/1.50m Grand Prix offered a nice prize money and a new hand-made bed, worth about 14,000 Euro. The Belgian rider Stefan Corten took the victory in the CSI2* Grand Prix of Lier with the 10-year-old For Pleasure-son Flinstone van ‘t Eigenlo. Corten was the only one who could keep the fences up in the jump-off and won the class finishing with one time penalty. Jamal Rahimov from Azerbaijan and the Belgian bred stallion Excenel V (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Landetto) got one rail in the jump-off, but set the fastest time in 38.91 seconds. Norwegian show jumper Espen Johansen and the only 8-year-old Clouseau van de Helle Z (Canturo x Cantus) took the third spot in 4/43.26. It took a long time until the first clear round was set in the first round. Also the jump-off proved to be hard enough and technical. The GP offered sort turns and bended lines with triple combinations making it a hard task to accomplish.
