The International competition in La Baule, France has kicked off. The top of the showjumping-world has gathered and ended the first day with a 1m50 competition. Abdelkebir Ouaddar and his Diamant de Semilly-son Quickly de Kreisker jumped to victory, hopefully setting the pase for the further competition. Last week the pair already claimed victory in the CSI Le Toucquet Grand Prix. But Ireland also showed it is ready for this Nations Cup. Dermott Lennon (Loughview Lou-Lou) and equiline-rider Billy Twomey (Tinka's Serenada) completed the stage with a second and third spot. Tomorrow the riders gather for the FEI Furusiyya Nations Cup leg. The starting order will be as follows: 1. Spain 2. Brazil 3. Belgium 4. Ireland 5. Switzerland 6. France 7. The Netherlands 8. Great Britain. Five teams – Belgium, Spain, Ireland, Switzerland and the host nation France – will be eligible for Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup points. Switzerland is leading the standings in Europe Division 1 after one event.
