The three star Grand Prix of Budapest ended with a home win for the Hungarian rider Gábor Szabó riding his 11 year old stallion Timpex Cent (Cento x Hargita). Szabó was the only one in the five rider jump-off in this 1.60 Grand Prix that managed to produce a second clear round. Runner-up was Jana Wargers from Germany on Lasco (Laptop x Acord II) with a four fault score in the jump-off. These two riders were followed by Austria's Roland Englbrecht and Poorboy (Conterno Grande x Argentinus) in third. The victory was of course a milestone in Hungarian showjumping, and the home crowds were thrilled to witness the win.
