Twomey takes home the first big win at CSIO5* Gijon

Irish rider Billy Twomey won the first big class of CSIO5* Gijon, Wednesday's 1.50m Trofeo Lacera counting for the world ranking. Riding Diaghilev (Vangelis S x Handstreich), Twomey stopped the clock at 28.06 in the second phase winning by a hundredth over fellow team member Richard Howley on his mare Electra B (Arezzo VDL x Paladin). Brazilian rider Adir Abreu Jr. on Teck de Riverland (Quick Star x Cincaba Rouge) placed third with a time of 28.14.
