Yesterday course builder Anthony D'Ambrosio had set a nice Table A for the FEI riders at Spruve Meadows. Aboar Lennox Lewis 2 (by Loreatus) Leslie Howard proved to be the fastest in this 1.45m course. The pair was followed by Antonio Maurer aboard Portena, finishing in 63.403 seconds. Aboard Aloubette, a 9 year old Oldenburg out of Armitage, Antonio also claimed the sixth spot. Brasilian Rodrigo Lambre and his Dutch Warmblood Melbourne (Verdi x Zeus) made it to the third place. A total of 10 horse-rider combinations finished faultless. Slowest, but only Canadian, was Jill Henselwood with the 10-year-old Quidam Blue (by Quidam's Rubin). The top five was completed by Nicolas Pizarro Suarez (Barbaro) and John Perez with Al Capone, riding for Colombia in fifth. However the biggest FEI class was set at a height of 1.55m. Italian course designer Uliano Vezzani, set a difficult course in the international ring. It was again the USA who took home the win. Quentin Judge and HH Copin Van de Broy (by Darco) set the time at 37.77 seconds. Former Olympic Champion, Eric Lamaze, came close but finished second with the 11 year old Power Play (by Casall). California's Rich Fellers and his 19-year-old Flexible, proved to be a combination to watch. The pair rode to a third place. The top five was completed by Kirsten Coe and the Tal Milstein Stables-reference, Czardas 30 (by Contendro). Nicola Philippaerts and Forever D'arco ter Linden (by Darco) finished fifth. From the 15 horse-rider combinations in the jump-off, only 8 finished faultless.
