No less than 21 combinations qualified for the 1.50 Queens Cup in Barcelona. In this two phase class the riders prepared for the Nations Cup finals tonight. A lot of the combinations also kept it clear in the jump-off. Eventually it was Great-Britain's William Whitaker who speeded to victory with the 14-year-old Last Liberty-son, Fandango. The pair stopped the clock in 36.58 seconds, finishing almost half a second faster as Belgium's Pieter Devos and his 9-year-old Zangersheide-mare, Claire Z (by Clearway). Devos placed second in 37.20 seconds and was followed by Tiffany Foster. Canada's Foster and her 11-year-old KWPN-gelding, Brighton (by Contendro) stopped the clock in 37.27 seconds and finished third. Henrik von Eckermann followed in a fourth place with the Chacco-Blue-stallion, Chacanno. The top five was completed by Steve Guerdat aboard Cayetana (by Robin II Z).   Click here for the results
