Kannan is best represented sire in final Olympic selection!

You may have noticed that the Equnews website has a new look! It now includes its own Olympic section. The latest Olympic news (click here) is conveniently collected, including the selections (via equtelex.com) and the program overview. Now that the final list of jumping horses is known, it is clear that the BWP studbook is the number one supplier of Olympic jumping horses!

No fewer than 18 horses are BWP-registered, 13 horses represent the KWPN studbook, and 12 the Selle Français.

Notably, Kannan is the most represented among the qualified jumping horses. Kannan is the sire of 3 qualifiers. This is also the case for Toulon, Diamant de Semilly, Eldorado vd Zeshoek, Chacco-Blue, and VDL Cardento.

Furthermore, Kannan is also the dam's sire of four Olympic-qualified horses, making him the most represented as either sire or grandsire.

Paul Schockemöhle - Olympic Breeder

The number one breeder who can use the Olympic Games as a showcase is Paul Schockemöhle's Gestüt Lewitz. Three horses come from his breeding operation: Ladriano, Chadellano JRA, and Condara.

German breeder Wilfried Sandmann also sees his breeding flourishing in Olympic qualification, thanks to Kent Farrington's Greya and also Contago!
